This is a verbal for the Bison? If so, Nice! She sounds like she makes everybody around her better and she is a multi-sport standout.

http://thescrumbrandon.com/v1/category/cis/page/2/

DeGagne, meanwhile, is not even particularly human. When Yeboah would make a play, DeGagne would step up with a spin move, a dish to a teammate, a tough shot in traffic, whatever was necessary at the time.

Kevin Anderson is reporting it on his blog
http://gbbrecruit.blogspot.com/2008/07/double-ot-ndsu-verbal.html (Norcaljack referenced in in the Rachelle Eckman thread).

Even though she plays point guard in prep, she sounds like a solid slashing wing player that will complement our back court next year.

Couple notes from Hallstrom's blog.

* Danielle grew up playing all sports, hockey and volleyball, in addition to basketball. (Hockey...got some toughness going on).

* Bison coaches apparently are projecting her as a 1 or 2 guard. (so much for my "slashing wing" projections.

* Family was very impressed with the coaching staff. In Dad's words, DeHoff and company were "professional, caring, and very knowledgeable about the game." (We get a lot of that lately).

* Dad says NDSU coaches commented that Danielle "raised everyone's play around her" (That's what you want in a point guard.)

* Dad says the style of play that DeHoff wants to use fits well with what Danielle is used to. He describes that style as up-tempo, international style of ball. (Amy started adding speedsters to the team with Trekker, Plucker and Birkel...hopefully we'll continue to get the personnel to play this type of game.

Lots of guards in the house her frosh year: Srs. Inger Hodgson, Nicole Vigil, Skye Smith, . Jrs. Abby Plucker and Whitney Trekker and So. Katie Birkel. That could be a tough lineup to break into but then again...this kid sounds tough.

Welcome to the Herd, Danielle.

BlueKeyAlum, I really appreciate what you've brought to this board. You obviously have a source. I can't wait until next year when the Fab 5 come in and the Special 3 (I've heard they will bring in 3 in 2010) in 2010. Keep up the good work.

D,
A tiny bit of restraint might be in order.
Of those 8, there may be a clunker or two. Not all of them will
transition into D1 ball as well as you'd like.
I'm enthused too, but at a bit lower level.
Give them a year or two to get their feet on the ground, see which
ones stick around Fargo, and we'll see how much progress is made.

Dormie. Thanks for the shout out. I really don't have connections to the team. I just pull info from the newspapers.

Elephant Dreams is right. There will be folks who figure out that NDSU, Fargo, Division II basketball are not the thing for them. Fortunately, we have a committed senior (and junior and sophomore) class next year. The frosh don't have to contribute right away and this should make adjustment a bit easier. After the six seniors graduate next year, it's going to be time for the underclass to contribute.

Trailing by 20 points at the end of the 3rd quarter, DeGagne lead a 23-3 run that gave Crocus Plains a brief lead over Vincent Massey with 2:49 left in the game. Missed free throws, however, hurt Crocus Plains as they lost 67-65 in the Championship game of the Manitoba Provincial finals.

Danielle had 39 of her teams 65 points.
