Hard to tell what his accuracy is like in these videos but I'll hear him out. It's not like we can't use him.

I was thinking the same thing. We don't know if the guy is good or not. Stat's don't tell the whole story (good or bad). Lets wait and see him play before we say how good he is.

We know he had a good high school career and a not so good JC career. We don't know why. An O-line can make a a big difference in a QB's stats for example. If he signs, I'm going to take a wait and see attitude.

This is great news. NDSU gets a backup that has experience running the offense. We now go into the fall with 4 qb's. 2 that can play right away and 2 that will redshirt. If the worst happens, we can pull the redshirt off of Jose Ole'. That's assuming he doesn't win the starting job this fall. Lakes says he's the second coming of Clutch. I think we'll get to see a lot of T-Jack II this fall. If we get any sort of sizable lead you know the coaches will be overly protective of Mertens and throw in T-Jack II to go the rest of the game.

Mertens hurt would be devastating news, but this team is still pretty darn good without a passing threat QB. Defense and running game alone would win quite a few games. This isn't a won trick pony.

Sounds like he had offers from Howard and Prairie View A&M. Prefers throwing the ball to running. LA city player of the year in HS at 3A level (4A is the highest level in LA).

Out of high school- was getting looks from I-AA schools, slacked off on SAT's, ended up going the JUCO route.

Sounds like he's grown up a lot since HS.
