The women are just killing the competition with several of their strongest events yet to come. Cody Halsey ran the 3000m steeplechase for the first time in her Bison career(she's a 6th year senior) and not only won the event, she set a Summit championship record.

4 WIU (51)
5 SUU (24.75)

The men are also doing very well, though not quite as dominant as the ladies.

2 SUU (52)
3 ORU (43)
4 WIU (36)

All the results haven't been posted yet, but I think the Bison swept the championships again. The men's compitition was close. The women's, not so much.

Overall, the Bison men who took championships were Riley Dolezal in the javelin, Shawn Francis in the pole vault, and Scott Nei in both the triple jump and the long jump.

The women racked up even more with Cody Halsey taking the 3000m steeplechase, the 1500m and the 800m, Devon Wentz taking the 100m hurdles and the 400m, and Halsey, Laura Hermanson, Christine Bruins and Brittany Gigstead teaming up to win the 4x400m relay.

Men:
1) NDSU 209
2) SUU 197
3) ORU 144
4) WIU 97
5) SDSU 86
6) UMKC 38
6) Oakland 38

Women:
1) NDSU 233.75
2) SDSU 165
3) ORU 155.75
4) WIU 107
5) SUU 89.75
6) IPFW 39
7) UMKC 17.75
8) Oakland 9

Pretty impressive wins. Heck, it doesn't look like Whitney Carlson was entered in any events and she's one of the big guns - kind of makes the margin even more impressive. I hope Whitney is OK - anybody hear anything? But, wow, great to see so many people with personal bests.

And, on the men's side, NDSU won despite not getting all that many points from the Bison traditional strengths (400, 800).

I sure hope they get some better weather next year.
