I saw him throw a shut-out on the BTN a couple of weeks ago against Ohio State.

It would be nice to grab this game and finish out these last nine games strong.

On an unrelated but sad note, former Bison Matt Mossey tore a ligament in his elbow and will have to have Tommy John surgery.

Are the Gophs sending a split squad? Not intended as smack but I know they did a few years ago. And when we beat them at the Ghettrodome was it a split squad?

Final: 9-4 Bison ! Two out of three against the Gophers this year. Was nice to see more than a handful of fans in the stadium. Too bad the ice cold north wind had to be there. Would have been nice if all 1100 fans would have stayed for the final out.

SDSU in Fargo for four games next week.

They did not send a split squad two years ago. That was a bunch of bull from Anderson to the media as an excuse. They were missing two starters from the bottom of their order and used their entire main relief staff and started Carr.

In case anyone is wondering, the startrib (print) didn't have any mention of the game except the box score in the sports section.

That game a couple years ago was exactly like a split-squad game. Gophers had 5 irregulars in the game along with all three pitchers used were non-regular players. Most not call that playing their studs. These games just don't mean that much to the gophers, well at NDSU it is their world series as they had another record crowd last night.

And did you expect them to do anymore since NDSU won the game?

No. It's pretty typical. I was hoping for at least a small write up.

They had the vast majority of their big guns in the lineup with the exception of Larson and Hummel. They were only missing their starting C Herbert, SS Lyons, RF Baran, and LF Nohelty. The rest of the guys who played all started and played a substantial amount during the year. Those other 4 all played in the Gophers come from behind win earlier in the year at the dome which a blown strike 3 call allowed one more pitch to Mee who put it into the football pressbox for a one run lead. It was an excuse! Bottom line, in the past 3 years the Gopher series is 4-3 in favor of the gophers. (insert concordia reference to your last point about world series as well)

Look who the two teams use for pitching, that says everything about who the game means something too. One team throws there best pitcher, the other uses bullpen scrubs. Laber has pitched in all three of NDSU victories over MN in the ten meetings.

Seeing the stats and how the Bison have been hitting, I dont think we can say "bullpen scrubs"...it was great to see the bats come alive and for the team to put a complete game together. Good win and much needed!
