The Drake relays are always a good time...I used to go to them when my sister ran track in college.

If ya didn't watch them last year, you gotta check out the 4X110 Shuttle Hurdle Relay. It is above and beyond the craziest track event out there. I ran in that event twice for Bemidji State and can proudly say we beat Iowa my junior year. Who cares if they false started.......it's still a W :p

Congrats to BISON women 4x800 meter team second to the Gophers in a school record 8:24. Smashed the school record. It was cold and windy the Bison did a great job. It was great to see the Drake again. Thanks to Don Larson for taking me along. And to the people at Mondo track surfaces for letting sit in your track side tent.+++

The Bison fans should know that your women running the 4 x 800 ran what appears to be the third fastest time in the country this year, losing by a very minor margin to Minnesota. Minnesota's time was the fastest in the country this year. The Bison were stride for stride with Minnesota much of the way and at each handoff, it was either team's race (never mind that Minnesota's quartest won the race last year and dearly wanted to repeat).

If you go to the Drake Relays website you'll see a story featuring the race and the picture shows Minnesota vs NDSU in a handoff.

Very impressive.

Here's a link to the Drake Relays website...the pictures change every few seconds.
