There’s no better marketing tool than a sold-out sign.

I wonder whether Jeff K. was saying that it's up 500 from this time last year or up 500 from last year's total.

Kolpack also mentions the possibility of placing a cap on the number of season tickets. At Montana State the capacity is 13,500 and they stopped selling season tickets at 8000 not too long ago so NDSU has a ways to go, but, hey, with all the sell outs, the time period it takes to add 5000 to 6000 season tickets might be relatively short. I mean, season ticket sales have increased by 90% in five years - and that was without the added incentive of sell outs.

My problem with getting friends to get season tickets is they want to be in good seats, but don't want to pay the teammakers dues.

which SUCKS!

They want 25-25 yard lines.. and I said, you can get end zone and higher up seats in those sections. They say "screw it, Ill just find tickets as the game gets closer"

I think he meant up 500 from last years total but I could be wrong.

Going back to last year, season ticket sales in late April 2007 were approximately 6,600. Which means we're over 900 or so ahead of last year if we've sold over 7,500 by now.

If that's true, we could see over 8,000 tix for this year, as the article indicates.

I recently calculated that a season ticket base of 8,000 and a student allotment of 3,800 with a stadium capacity of 19,287 would mean there would be a total of almost 45,000 single-game tickets available for the whole season. So clearly, we have a long ways to go.

10k does seem reasonable.

With 10,000 season tickets sold and 3,800 student tix per game, that still would mean almost 33,000 singles up for grabs for the entire year. Which means we'd still be seating chart watching over on GoBison.com this fall for the week leading up to the games.

According to Josh at the ticket office season tickets will be sent out around the first of July. After the initial push they are up 500 season ticket sales. There is always some attrition so I only look for another 200-300 season tickets to be sold. PL
