NDSU usually doesn't disappoint when it comes to their advertising, aside from the "stream yellow" campaign. I hope that whatever they come out with focuses on the fact that now every game matters and that we aren't playing an exihibition schedule anymore. Maybe something like "every game counts." Or if we really wanted to be dicks we could do a picture of Nelson (the simpson) pointing at something symbolizing UND with a simple "HA ha!" :)

I envision an ad campaign centered around this:

Lakesbison is Bison football.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at that.

I have an idea: Have a series of three or so commercials centred around rowdy, hardcore fans and their relationship with Bison football, and make it somewhat humourous (more like entertaining than LOL funny), and have the slogan for the commercials be "I LOVE BISON FOOTBALL."

The announcer at the end of the bits could then say "He/she loves Bison Football... DO YOU??... For tickets call 231-NDSU."

I got the general idea from a series of Indiana Hoosiers commercials featuring the late great Terry Hoeppner a few years ago.

That's kind of the same idea as they had with the Vikings and their "You made the team campaign" last year.

I like to be surprised by these things. However, if if I were in the advertising business, I'd probably do a pitch based on a "I was there!" theme.

Examples: Show a clip of the Gopher game and then show the Governor saying "I was there." Or a clip of the bomb to beat SHSU and then a bunch of students in Bison gear yelling that "I was there!" There are lots of ways to vary the basic premise. Showing ticket stubs, showing a newspaper headline, pointing to a crowd shot, etc.

A radio station in the cities created a new Wild theme from a song on the team america: world police movie. I think it would work pretty good for the Bison.

Bison! F**K Yeah!
Going to beat the mutha-f'in Jacks, yeah!
Bison! F**K Yeah!
Winning is the only way, yeah!

Then ask the question:

"Where will you be This year?"

Now available------- Free Trips to Chattanooga!

On that note...

TV ad: Entire Bison team waiting at a train station, while this totally hot babe (preferably in a bikini) walks up to them and asks, "Pardon me boys, is that the Chattanooga Choo-Choo?". The camera zooms in on Bohl, and he calmly states, "Yes it is". Then there's guitars wailing in the background as they show some awesome highlights.

These are all terrible ideas compared to this:

Craig Bohl with a fu manchu and '80s rocker hair wig playing air guitar on a small stage in front of the team as they rock out to "Rock You Like a Hurricane" by everyone's favorite German heavy metal band, The Scorpions.

How about this:

"We promise to try and not offend anyone!"

Just a comment on recent PC happenings, not intended to hijack the thread (sorry)

It will be tough to beat the "will you be there" theme. I hope they either continue it or build on it.

Hey, I have an idea.............."SCREAM YELLOW!!!!!!!"

Ok, maybe not.

OK...I got a serious one this time.

Where were you...with radio clip of big plays. and have people at various places like...ummm...hunting...or in their living room...or Iraq. And then have the last guy be someone who is shopping with his wife, or doing something where they are totally seperated from the game. Have the classic "My oh My" and then "Don't be that guy" Join the 19000 at the fargo dome.

I can't believe I hadn't run across this thread yet.

Simple after what happened on several occassions last year...

"Will you STAY there?"

Fairweather fans! I'm gonna heckle everyone of you sobs that leaves early this year. Well..just like last year, but I'm going to schedule etiquette lessons from TLB (THE Lakes Bison) this year for more dramatic impact.
