Bucky is having military appreciation night on Friday when they host Air Force. Bucky lost a former wrestler, Lance Koenig in the Iraq war so I know this is a group that he strongly supports.

I don't know much about wrestling, but if I were to see one match this year would this be the one to see? I remember Air Force was good last year, is that the case this year? Are they perennial powers? thanks!

Air Force is pretty solid I guess they are 1-1 in the conference which puts them in second place with the Bison. They are strongest at 165 and HWT which we aren't very strong at. It does not make sense to look at common oppenents because the match ups at each weight are always different but they lost to Northern Colorado last night (we also lost to UNC) I think it will be a very tough match. It is the last conference match of the season too. We have some great wrestlers on the team Aho, Pastelov, Hoffman they are touch kids who are worth the price of admission.

Congrats to the Bison.

My dad and I went to the match last night. I'll be the first to admit that I don't know much about wrestling as I grew up with basketball, but it seemed like in the matches we lost, the Bison wrestlers seemed tentative. In just about every weight, we dominated Air Force whenever we shot the legs -- it seemed they couldn't stop the Bison. But the guys that lost weren't agressive enough and didn't seem to be going for the takedowns very hard, kinda like they were sitting back waiting for the oppenent to shoot in and work from there.

Wrestling is awesome! Wish we would've had that in our small Class B town instead of basketball. Napolean was just too far to drive for practice.
