Also in the latest bracketology projections by ESPN, ORU is a 13 seed and would take on #4 seeded Stanford in Anaheim, CA.

Without the Summit Tourney Championship, at 57 ORU would be NIT bound. It's all about the tournament.

A 57 could get you a 12 or 13 seed in the big dance, that is a BIG difference. The Summit League Tourney is still the key but a good RPI rating is also very important.

The tournament gets you into the dance and the 57 RPI helps figure out what seed you are once you're in.

is it possible that if oru loses conference tourney they get at largebid at 57 or do they have to win the tourney
every other team has to win to get in

To get an at large they'd probably need a sub 35 RPI.

Here is a link to last year's RPI:

The teams that were selected for the tournament are in bold. Things to notice: #29 Air Force was the best rank not to be selected. In the upper 30's and 40's is where more teams seem to be left out.

oral roberts runs the table and loses in conference tournament, they could still get an at large bid so summitt could get 2 teams in the big dance

I don't think so. In order to get an at large you must be from a power conference or hold a top 30 rpi (at least) and have some very signature wins. ORU does not and will probably not have mid 30 rpi...even if we beat Creighton and run the table. Remember what happened to Missouri state and air force a while back? Key wins, nice streaks and great rpi...left in the cold...

The tourney is EVERYTHING in the Badlands....

Andy Glockner of ESPN in his Bubble Watch is implying that the Summit could get two teams in if Oral Roberts wins out and loses to IUPUI in the finals.

Oral Roberts [16-5 (12-0), RPI: 50, SOS: 144] The Golden Eagles have a top-50 RPI without a top-100 win. That's hard to do. Still, with a perfect record and a two-game lead in the loss column over a good IUPUI team in the newly christened Summit League, they have to get a look. If they run the table until the conference finals, including a home win over Creighton in BracketBusters, before losing a barn burner to IUPUI, is it possible? It would be unusual, for sure. They would be 25-6 in D-I games.

Here's the link. Scroll to near the bottom of the page.: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bubblewatch?id=67

You don't have to be in a power conference to get an at-large.
