Nice to see Wurz on the list. I'm also glad #1 and #47 won't be on our schedule anymore. Roehl should be on the list though, few backs can run, block, and catch at the level he can. If he plays like he did this year you would think an NFL team would give him a chance.

Where did you get this? Linky please.

Does this list to into account the year in school these players are?

I wasn't surprised to see Barden at the top of the list. He will probably be the next Vincent Jackson (who starred at Northern Colorado).

Interesting to see Bomar at only 47.

Not sure about what year the players are in, since they are small school I would guess they are all juniors though.

When's the last time the NFL drafted a white running back?

Good question, have no clue. Steffes got a shot though and you'd think Roehl could get at least a free agent type deal as well.

Well, Brian Leonard from Rutgers was drafted in the second round last year by the Rams.

I checked the top couple guys and they're all juniors. So I would guess they all are.

um..... Mike Alstott.

He reminds me alot of Roehl... Big, Fast, downhill runner who is not afraid to punish linebackers.

The guy playing tailback for the Giants is 265 so I'm not sure that Roehl qualifies as big in terms of NFL backs.

If Roehl has another big year next year I could see him getting drafted in the late rounds.

Seeing Wurz there is pretty cool. He's definately got the physical stats the NFL is looking for in terms of height and weight.

Thanks...and I agree about Tyler Roehl. I suppose if he stays healthy and has another outstanding year he'll be on the list at some point. I think that there are still people that don't believe that he can run like he does...as though it was a fluke...or a mirage. Frankly, what he did at the Minnesota game blew me away...besides many other games. It could be that he's not the prototype for what the NFL views as a running back. But man, he could be an amazing fullback for blocking, running some, and catching the ball as an outlet. I hope that someone sees his potential. And I hope that he can stay healthy for the team, and for himself.

With the apparent depth at running back, it's going to be interesting to see how the coaches handle it. We're load-ed.

The same guy who did that 2009 list has other lists for small schoolers this year on D2football.com. He is constantly updating it based on all star bowl preparations and workouts. He normally will write a few articles on the site as well. As an FYI, Drago has been a steady #11 or 12 on the small school list as a 6th or 7th rounder. Mays has been between 44 and 50 (the list normally only goes to 50, and Mays dropped out of the latest couple).

He is still big, just cause Brandon Jacobs is a freak of nature.

At at 240+lb tailback with speed and hands is still hard to find.
