I agree...this is a huge game for the Bison. If they lose this the season could turn south really fast. I am expecting the Bison to come out and play a great game though. But its one they desperately need to win.

Hopefully we'll make a run in the conference next year, but it seems to me these guys have regressed compared to last season. Hopefully the coaching staff will start recruiting the Twin Cities area harder and quit relying on slow guys from Sixtooth NW Minnesota.

I don't think your team has regressed, you're just learning what life is like without a player like Smith in the middle. I'm afraid this will be a problem for both of us in recruiting for a while.

This team has declined in talent with out Smith. Saul and staff should have recruited a Junior College post or big forward and chose not to. Then to add an already present weakness - like defense (Gave up 55% shooting percentage to a W. Ill. team that is barely averaging 40%) and the inabilitie to win on the road (has been a problem for last two seasons). Plus you add entering league play for the first time to the equation! This has all added up to rough times for the Bison. It is very disapointing.

Another slow big man that we don't need. We need an undersized big that is athletic and scraps his butt off.

As for now the team is 8-9, they have three games at home to right the ship. I see three very winnable games, so my expectations are just that(3-0).

I expected at least a good standing in the conference. I really wanted to win the conference or at least get second. Losing in front of crowds of less than 1,000 is embarassing. Guess we have more questions than answers now.

Teams aren't going to respect low post players who get the pass in the post but then immediately always kick it back outside for a jumper from a guard. Take the ball down low and put it in the dang hoop so they respect you.

I don't care what anyone says, this team has too much talent to be 8-9. Winning on the road continues to be the problem and nothing will improve until the team develops that killer instinict. We'll win at home but at some point you gotta be at least a .500 road team, especially in conference.

Similar to the Timberwolves in year's past, a team that is perimeter based will struggle. I think that conference play is like the NBA playoffs.....when teams really buckle down on the defensive end and the low post scorers start to dominate.....Pistons and Spurs are teams that I am thinking about. I just don't see us as a team with great balance. Our three best players play the 1, 2, and 3 positions. Very frustrating.

One is a high school junior at PG who appears to be replacing Woody and is highly ranked in Wisco. Aaberg is a HS Junior from Rothsay who is very long and has a bright future to go along with his uncoachable size...and finally the HS Senior Nagle down in Iowa who is having a great season. He is huge, and while I always like kids to redshirt, I am starting to think we may ask him to play. He is already big enough, and statistically he can score...I have never seen him play...but he puts up big numbers and our current post players aren't showing the knack for scoring.

Three of the 4 future Bison are post players, I like that trend. We need to improve down low.

As a side note, IUPUI's tallest starter is 6' 7" and they had him at the top of the zone. They seem to be doing alright in the conference.

Yeah and winks does a remarkable job of that, but don't think carlson (or winks) is a real good answer for the problem.

The nice thing about Carlson is that he is a scorer. Alot of our current bench struggles to score on their own, and he will help that. He may not be a true post up player, but he is agressive down low and finds a way to score. I look forward to him playing next year.

All I hear this coaching staff talk about is working on defense, defense, defense. Well it looks like this team needs to devote a good chunk of time on offense. The offensive schemes need to improve because this current team only has 3 players that can score. The opponents are not going to break out of their zones until this team can find other ways to score.
