And I was writing this really great comment on the Salukis TD when all of a sudden they are lining up for a FG. Oh, well, 3 is OK. They ate up a lot of time on that drive and seem to be in control right now.

Well, That's one reason I think Bison fans are some of the best. I mean, if we were hosting this particular game, it would be a very tough ticket.

I would love to see the Herd play on ESPNHD next year at this time!

I doubt it would be that tough of a ticket.

Probably 16-17,000 in attendance.

No way...Granted some season ticket holders might not want to pay extra, but other fans will fill in for those. And the student section would be overflowing because all of them are still in town with finals next week. It would sellout just because of the event itself.

No. Not enough time for those across the region to plan to attend the game.

If schools like Appalachian State and Montana have a dropoff in attendance in the playoffs versus the regular season, I see no reason why NDSU would be able to overcome that trend.

I see your point, but I see Christmas shopping in Fargo as another draw for people to come to town. I highly doubt people go to Missoula and Boone as destinations.

Notice I did say in 'attendance', as well. Ticket sales could be more, but I don't see more than 17k showing up. If NDSU was hosting Montana, that could be an exception.

In spite of the fact the Salukis are a great FCS football team, apparently the community isn't behind them. They claim it's basketball country and the Saluki Stadium is a dungeon. This says something: they are getting a new stadium in 2010. Capacity: 15,000. The stadium they have now has a capacity of 17,324. apparently they NEVER sell out.

Salukis have hosted 3 playoff games.

Last week vs. Massachusetts they only got 6560 to attend the game. That's only about 13000 less than if the Bison were playing in the FFD. I bet Jerry Kill can't wait to get out of there.

Here is a funny, though somewhat disrespectful article in the Chicago Sun-Times that sheds a lot of light on the issue:

I just figured by that time there would be enough local Hype that the FM area of roughly 200,000 would fill at least the 18,700 seats, but I could be wrong

I would love to see a sold-out FFD on ESPN (after seeing the game in person, of course), but I just don't see it happening until the fans fill up the Fargodome for the Southern Utah's on the schedule.

The area has 200,000 but there are only 7,000 season tickets sold. Which means about 3500-4000 people control those 7,000 tickets. Now HOW many of those tickets are from the FM area????
Plus a few games this year was a questionable sellouts.PL

Plus in case you've forgotten, we've had a bit of a playoff drought in the FFD.

NDSU would sellout a semifinal game, easily. I can see the first round game on thanksgiving weekend not selling out but after that every ticket would be very tough to get.

I agree and in my group we only have 4 seats (season tickets), but if they make the semis and people hear about ESPN (HYPE) I think the BANDWAGON fans will crawl out of the woodwork! I guess we will have to wait and see!! GO BISON

Thanks for bringing the thread back to the game. I was wondering if this was the game thread or the FFD Fantasy Attendance thread.

Salukis did a hail Mary last play of the half. Looked like it could have been an interception, but a Saluki player actually had a chance to pick it up on a tip at the one, but I guess he didn't see it coming and grabbed for it too late.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the ESPN announcers are biased towards Delaware? Seems like ESPN ought to be neutral.
