We all know the coaching carousel is going to spin in the football world (in fact it's already started) and the spinning may end up affecting the Bison but does anyone think the spinning of coaching carousel in the soccer world will affect the Bison?

Kind of Doubt it... unless it is really big. PC has a pretty good setup here for himself and co-coaches right now and he knows it and likes it.

Personally I think some of those situations are virtually unwinnable so they're not really on the radar. On the other hand some are prime spots.

Step Down From NDSU - UWGB, Troy, Buffalo, Elon, Lamar

Step Up from NDSU - Alabama, Michigan, Clemson, Cincinnati, Baylor, Oklahoma

Lateral (but quality of life factors may influence situation) - Vermont, Tulsa, Wyoming, San Jose St.

Add:

Akron - Catherine Byrne 6-7-6
Iowa State Rebecca Hornbacher 8-6-5
Jackonville Chris Kouns 7-12-1
Deleware State

i dont think Tulsa or San Jose St. would be very lateral...much different recruiting area...the skill of the average soccer player there is a lot higher than the skill of the average soccer player here...

Good point. I considered that when making my assessment but I was thinking NDSU might have them on facilities. Especially with the development of the new fields across from the BSA. (Is that still a go?)

Lots of spinning on the carousel. One interesting note is the Ball State coach, Michelle Salmon, took the Cincinatti job so Ball State is open again. Pete was offered the Ball State job two years ago but turned it down and Salmon was their second choice.

There are now vacancies at:
Drake - I can see Pete being interested in this one.
South Dakota - John may take a look.
SIU-E - May interest John

Plus a bunch of others that probably don't affect us. There has been turn over at 45 of the ~315 Division I soccer programs this year. Amazing...

I would guess that Pete stays until a "BCS" job. If he wasn't willing to jump to Ball State while still in the DI transition process I don't see him moving to Drake now.

I would guess John would be very interested in SIU-E (having spent some time in IL and his desire to be a Head Coach). USD, not sure, my guess that he would pass (with the transition and town of Vermillion). His time will come and he has been a great asset to NDSU Soccer.

Drake just promoted their top assistant to head coach. Rumor is they are having budget problems so can't pay competitively. SIU-E and South Dakota are still open. If John is interested in another 5 years of transition they would both be good fits. Can't see anyone wanting that much aggrivation though.

All the vacancies are filled and Pete and John are both still here. On a related note we have hired Christie Chappell as an assistant to replace Randy Jewett who left to head up Red River soccer.
Welcome to NDSU Christie.
