App State has a lot of work to do on defense if they are to be a legit title contender. Not much time either, James Madison is the type of team that can take them down in the first round.

In the playoffs........I think UNI is going to be awfully tough, especially with those home playoff games in their dome. I can't wait to make the trip to Cedar Falls Oct. 18th!

I'd like to see Montana or McNeese win it. Both have been bashed all year about their schedule, which may or may not have been weak. They both ran the table on their schedules, finishing 11-0. Just like to see a western team quiet down all the East Coast Media. That said, App St looks like the team to beat. They lost a couple games with their QB injured after the Michigan win. He's back, and they will be tough to beat.

I really hope Wofford stuns Montana. Wofford is a good team, gave App St. their first loss, should be a close one in Missoula.

A gateway team winning it would be great but does anybody really want UNI to win it all? Think about it. They lost to UND last year. If they win it this year can you imagine all the crap that would come out of the north? Last year is last year, but you know they would make the connection.

The Grand Forks talk based on a game from last year does not bother me as much as the PantherHawk attitude from this year. Early on, I was supportive of UNI partially based on geography, partially on the old NCC ties.

Right now, I am supporting SIU as being the Gateway rep.

This might be a bit small of me, but it didn't quite happen like that. Southern Illinois had like sixty yards to cover and did one of those keep-it-alive lateral plays. They did a good job with it, but it really never had a chance. Besides, in that game UNI really was the better team and held a significant lead until the very end when they got passive. I really think UNI is the better team. And Southern Illinois would have to beat UNI in the UNI Dome, which they are never able to do.

I think it is unlikely that any given team will win, but I have to say that UNI has the best chance. But Appalachian State are champions, and it is theirs until they lose.
