A stadium or conference can have their own rules in regards to noisemakers.

I had four cowbells, the real ones purchased at TSC- not those cheesy little ones that don't make any noise, confiscated at the Montana State game. They told me I could pick them up at the ticket office after the game, but they left them out on a table near the exit. :banghead:

wish i would've been a member here before that game. I remember goin to cats games in the late 80's and 90's when i lived in bozeman and people would bring bells and whistles and all sorts of stuff and then anyone in opposing fans gear would have their stuff taken away. And like you had done, put on a table.

Upon further review, the Great West Football Conference does have a policy prohibiting artificial noisemakers. North Dakota State athletic director Gene Taylor said he became aware of the stipulation on Friday.

Yeah, I've read on the SDSU board that the school seems to be attempting to phase out the cowbells. This would explain why.
