A good point was made in that article...both upsets were made when there wasn't a hostile crowd around. Madison was a little rowdy, but it was 11 am, cummon, the bars aren't open yet, no right minded wisconsin student section will be rowdy yet. This will be the best, hearing the hush of the crowd.

Was on their site earlier today looking for a live game feed, but it sounded like there were plenty of tickets yet. I think our Junior guys like that kind of atmosphere anyway, if it's packed.

It should be packed. We had the best crowds we've ever had for our two exhibition games this season, even better than last year after our first NC and the return of all our '04's (Noah, Horford, Brewer & Green).

We've got an intimidating home court. The Rowdy Reptiles are right on top of you and they like to be heard. I think your guys will enjoy it.

Good luck tonight...enjoy the game. I'm headed up there after another Sammy Adams or two!

It will be on FSN Florida alternate. CH 665.

I was there earlier this week and I got the "for ordering information call..." message. Today it shows "Upcoming NDSU @ Florida" and there isn't any message. It looks like anyone in ND with DirecTV should be able to see the game.

With the Sports Pak, I thought I would get it on DirecTV. In fact, the onscreen message said it would be available at 6:45. come 7:00 pm. sorry! Not available. But it is available on channel 696, labeled ESPN. Onscreen message says, "Call Customer Service to order." Call Customer Service, they say, "Sorry, not available."

I guess it must be the cable stations making a last minute deal to block it from DirecTV. Screws us out in the hinterland, though.

You know, I don't care what DirecTV carries. I really don't. But I do expect them to tell me the truth. When I'm told at 6:45 the game will be available in 15 minutes, then I think it should be.

And when I go to a different channel to watch and they tell me to call in to order, then I expect it to be available. If it's not available, then the message should say, "Not available in your area." That is NOT to much to expect.

On cable here in Fargo...the Gators are fast and their speed and feisty d is giving the Bison troubles. The Bison jumped out to a lead early, then the Gators went on a run and are up 39-25 at half. Bison getting handled on the boards, and have big guys grabbing rebounds from them over their backs...it will be a tough game to pull out in a hostile environment. The Bison are struggling to get contested 17 foot jumpers. I will never count out the Bison though! GO BISON!

Impressions. Outside of what we already know about our returners.

Tveidt looked very promising as the game wore on. He is athletic, can run the floor for his size, and can hit the jumper pretty well.

Moorman looks like he will be much more of a physical presence with the added bulk.

We need to be able to get more from our bench to consistantly beat teams like Florida and not have it be a once a year thing. We really needed Nelson to get going. You look at the wins at Wisconsin and Marquette and he had very solid games shooting. In the loss to K-state we were rolling until he got into foul trouble and had to sit. Texas Tech i dont really remember but I dont think he shot outstanding in that one either. Woodside is always going to get his points but where we can really throw the dager into bigger schools in the future is with Nelson.

That's great. It was fun beating Wisconsin. But it was 9:00 o'clock in the morning (maybe 10, I don't know), and I got the feeling Wisconsin was hung over.

This week there was nothing but respect for the Bison from the Florida coaches, team, media or fans.

I just got home from watching the game...a respectable showing but being the competitors they are, our guys are going to be disapointed. Clang, clang, clang is all I have to say about our shooting from 3 and free.

We really missed Andre. I don't know how many layups their guards had...Andre would have swatted a few of those into the seats.

But even given extremely poor shooting (wide open shots, wasn't like the defense caused it) I guess this was a respectable showing.

I can't help but think that if we would have been on, we could have won. We'll be tough in the conference but we really need more inside help for next year, maybe we can get some JUCO help.

That pretty much sums up the night. I think Florida's overall quickness played a big part in it as well. My wife summed it up quite well. Florida looked faster and NDSU couldn't hit a shot for its life. I hope the Gators do well this year.

The best part of the game came at Buffalo Wild Wings. Some Sioux hockey fans showed up and asked if the game was going to be shown. The waitress told them, "Don't you realize this is Fargo?" That game was never shown. In fact, some of the small TVs went to the Minnesota vs. Mankato State hockey game. To me, hockey is about as exciting as watching a junior high soccer match, but I thought that was pretty funny.

I could only listen to the audio on the web, not sure if it was the same announcers. The ones on the web were actually pretty decent, had a lot of respect for our team. Commented at one point during the game when we were down by about 14 that was not what they expected out of our team at all. Had some nice things to say about Tveidt (sp?). Listening on the web it just sounded like we were playing kind of tight right away, but started to get it going later in the game. If we would have had another 5 minutes, who knows? It is nice to see when they got down by a bunch they didn't fold, shows a lot of character.

I told me wife that NDSU came out in the first half a lot like they did against the Gophers last year. They looked tight. Second half they were able to get a lot of backdoor cuts and in-the-paint points. I agree about the game being five minutes longer, but Florida certainly earned the win.

Well, we lost by 10 to the back to back champs and certainly could have played better. I'm watching the game right now and that one stretch in the 1st half was definitely brutal. It took me a while to think about last night's game, but here is my reaction. We played poorly....to average at best basketball and hung with them. With two minutes to play, we had a chance to win, that is all we could have asked for. The offensive foul calls on Nellie and Winks were huge early in the first half. Changed the first half. I was hoping for some in game defensive changes as they were getting to the rack at will. Luke had a poor game, coming off the ACL...I understand. He has no back to the basket game, nor do they even try to get it in to him...which could free up an open look if he passes out of a double team. You don't block shots or rebound under the rim. Tveidt was a stud. (I told you so...). He will only improve. He isn't Dre, he is different, but I love his game. No Freddie? Come on. He is as athletic as anybody they had...and can drive. Which is exactly what we couldn't do. In foul trouble in the first half, I was disappointed to not see him in the game. Vaughn.........brick. Pennick played solid defense. No only did our bench not score, they basically didn't play. Sammy should have received more of a shot. It wasn't like LUke was doing anything. I would take a fresh Sam over a tired Luke anytime. I don't think there is much difference if any between them, and it seems that Sam can score better down low. Woodie forced it quite a bit, below average performance in the first half. Alot of turnovers. Absolutely love the fact that he wants the ball and is willing to take a big shot when needed. Nellie, just a stud. Nobody works that hard. He was spent. I think B1SON stated earlier about his missed free throws, he was just flat dead at the end. Great effort. Winks....best player we currently have. I have said that for a while. He was the only player we had that had a favorable matchup. He has an NBA body. At the 3, he was physically able to match up with anyone they had. Foul trouble hurt. I wish he shot it 30 times last night. Very unselfish. I thought he could have went to the line at will as he is that much stronger than the defense. Zo....wish you were in the classroom as we could have used you last night. I feel like I am negative, but after really thinking about it, I thought if we played poorly we would get run out of the gym....and we had a possession late in the game to damn near tie it up. I really think our bench can perform when given the chance. I know Woody pretty much has to play as our offense doesn't flow without him, but Freddie and Sammy can contribute when necesssary. Zo is able to come back for Tim Miles in December and we miss his athletic game. Rebounding and shot blocking. I hope Luke continues to get more comfortable with his knee as I think he has more game in him than he showed last night. Sorry for venting a bit, this team has the ability to win now. Hopefully they avoid injury and continue to get some confidence in the younger kids.

Rep points to you Mr. Burgandy. I don't think you are too negative regardless of if we are playing Balta High School (how's that for a random) or Florida we have to play our best. We didn't do that Friday night. However, I am very encouraged about this team.

Great post+++++++++ agreed!

I wish someone would serious come over to Winks and tell him that he has to take over the game(s)... If he developed that attitude he would really be unstoppable. No offense to Woodside, but he isn't physically able to dominate his defenders at will like Winks can. Whether thats driving, shooting or posting up, rebounding, shot blocking, etc, it doesn't matter - Winks is the total package and can do anything out there - a beast waiting to be unleashed.

Side note, as you state I was disappointed that the bench didn't get more opportunity also, especially sam and freddie.

I forgot about Zo. That would have been huge to have him as a post presence and shot blocker even if he didnt give us any offense because there were alot of one hand floaters that droped for them that he could have swated away. Or just physically dominat the boards and take away some of their second chance points. That was really missing and definately would have been a difference maker as we really lacked that aspect to control a team at the level of Florida. Its too bad we wont have him for a few more weeks.
