Am I wrong in saying Sagarin predicts NDSU by 22 1/2? NDSU (77.22) - Cal Poly (52.33) - 2.47 for home field?

He was right on the money for at least two of the last three if I'm doing the math correctly. His ratings predicted NDSU by 6 over Minnesota and NDSU over Illinois State by 25. I never ran the numbers for Southern Utah.

on the sagarin ratings its the far R column that says predictor.
NDSU:71.69
Cal Poly: 57.67

+ 2.5 for home field

Yes, thank you. It's like USA Today is in bed with Vegas. Can they make it any harder for a casual reader to figure out how it's actually suposed to work? You're either interested in the BCS number (ELO-Chess) or the Predictor number but what do they do? Invent a mythical third number that's no good to anyone to determine the print order. Rediculous. :(

Exactly...why would they not base it either on elo chess or predictor? Predictor is the most interesting when comparing how different teams would do against one another and the elo-chess is interesting because it's the PC world of BCS.

The combination of the two is meaningless, yet it's the number that's most widely quoted because of the way they list the ratings.
