Unfortunately, so is UNI.

I'm sick and tired of Northern Iowa being #1. There should be the "FCS Bowl". Northern Iowa vs. North Dakota State. Then who'd be number one?

Let's admit the fact, no matter how much it is bs and it sucks. But there will be no way NDSU is ranked #1 in any poll.

It just won't happen. If it is UNI or whoover wins the FCS, they will be number #1 because they are eligible. NDSU has beat the he@@ out of the last two opponents, and UNI is closer.

I agree they are a good team they deserve their spot as much as we do.

Actually we're already rated #1 in the coaches poll.:)

If someone with 2,3,4 losses wins the NC, and the undefeated team go out in the first round, we could realistically be ranked #1 at the end of the year.

UNI is very deserving of their number one ranking.

UNI is very deserving of their number one ranking.

This is absolutely true. They deserve what they have. The Bison deserve what they have. NDSU is not eligible and I'm comfortable with that.
The thing that I love is that, so long as NDSU wins out and UNI wins the national championship, they still will never know for sure. It should create a very pleasing picture for me, at the very least. I'm already loving it.

One quick point. NDSU still has two tough road games. I think they will win them both, but crazier things have happened. UNI's next two opponents are a whopping 0-19 and the Panthers play at home.
RE the potential asterisk, I think anyone who wins the championship will sleep just fine. It's not their fault, after all, and it is highly speculative to assume that NSDU would automatically make the title game. As impressive as their resume is, the fact remains that they have not even played a playoff FCS team.
BTW, I saw NDSU for the first time on Saturday. Very impressive, particularly on offense. Illinois State is not a bad team, and you totally dismantled them.
