Must be a heck of a lot easier to recruit when you can tell a player they will play in front of 12-19,000 people on any given week plus most of the games will be on TV. Thow in the occasional D1A school and it's even more appealing.

Sure as hell beats the old D2 days when Dacotah Field would have 15,000 and Morningside would have a crowd of 800.

Yeah now that we have the people there....actually cheer loud like you did at the Metrodome...and NOOO "Let's Go Bison" when we're about to run a play...and if the other team makes a big play and we want to cheer our team up step it up and then cheer "lets go bison" so they know we're still here and behind them 100%!!! and when we're on defense I want to be hearing more bison fans...I want them to get more delay of game penalties or false starts...lets really help them out!

I wouldn't take the old Dacotah Field numbers to the bank, they were estimates by the then ticket manager Tim Bourdin (sp), definitely a POA deal. They didn't keep track of ticket sales or collect tickets, I remember the big flap when some group actually counted the number of people going into a NDSU/UND game, the descrepancy from the announced attendance and what they counted was several thousand.

If I remember correctly, many of the old Dakota Field figures were brought up when the FFD was being proposed. I know they didn't count the students for sure, you only had to show your student ID and you we through the gate. They probably had a pretty good handle on actual ticket sales, but would have been a complete crap shoot on students.;)
