They way it's written suggest that the remains are older or at least not recent. So I guess that means Buning is still missing? Oops this is not a smack thread, this is not a smack thread. I just have to keep telling myself that.

LOL, When I heard the story last night on WDAY, the first thing I thought of was, they found Buning.

First thing I thought was are they going to add the person to total enrollment?

His name's Linkovitch Chemovsky. He's from Estonia, and I think he's jive.

It has to be Bunning!! I wonder if that means his Leave of Absence is over!?!?:D

It could be Kuppy? Nobody has seen him lately either. Or did Ralph bury himself on campus as a good luck charm?

Was that supposed to be a joke, or is that true??:D

Yes, they likely already have, retroactive to the day the ME determines he was originally buried.

Remember:

“We’re very sure they’re here, but if you want us to line them up on the quad, we’re not sure we can do that,” said UND spokesman Peter Johnson.

It's obvious now this quote was taken out of context. What he must have meant to say was "we're not sure we can do that without digging".

Seriously though, this isn't funny.

Unfortunate and hopefully this gets resolved. Sounds like kind of a strange set of circumstances.

Not making a funny here - just an observation. They could make a weekly TV show about that place.

Seriously. One of my buds in the anthropology department was giving me the scoop. Back in the depression, they'd have students come over from Europe and room in the dorms with the American kids, for extra credit and junk.

Seems like good fishing weather today.

And UND was too cheap to bury the guy in a legitimate cemetery? Come on, you can come up with something a little better. No way they buried the guy on campus. I know, NDSU actually buried a cow in front of the Dairy Science building, but even we draw the line.

They think he was swept away as part of the "Big Freeze", a climate response to a sudden influx of fresh water from Lake Agassiz and deglaciation in North America.

I heard they found a trophy near the body...it was engraved 1951 UND Hide-n-Seek 1st Place.

Honestly, when I first heard about this, I though to myself. "They just have to have attention on them at all times. They can't stand NDSU having a huge week of publicity in Minnesota and North Dakota so they went and pulled a stunt like this." Obviously it's not the case but the timing is oddly suspicious. I'm guessing they dug up this body months ago but wanted to break the news during Bison/Gopher week to direct attention away from NDSU. :hide:

Did anyone nudge it? It's always possible it's not quite a dead body, and is instead just Sid...

It's definately not Sid. I heard him on the radio this morning making excuses and hanging up on caller he didn't agree with.
