I just hope no Gophers get decapitated after Brewster's stupid comments. I want to crush these morons.

I'm predicting a game much along the lines of the Central Michigan game that is closer than the score would indicate, but where NDSU is in control for most of the game.
NDSU 34
Minnesota 17

Kool aid alert! Not to poop the party but Minnesota is in the Big Ten. They have roughly 20 more schollies than we do. I'm also not sure it's going to be as high scoring as some people...I've heard a lot of talk about 40 points, etc.

My prediction 27-24.............toss up as to who wins.

So what, Minnesota is a struggling Big Ten program that lacks tradition, is implementing a new offense, has a crappy defense and a coach that is full of himself. Those extra scollies don't make any difference at this point since the Bison have many experienced and talented starters who play together very well as a team. Doubt the Goofers are that well in sync given all their problems this year. As for skill level they may have a couple positions were they are better but I would say the Bison are equal to or better in all the rest. Just because Minnesota is in the Big Ten is no reason to give them credit for anything. The Bison are motivated, the Gophers are demoralized.

those extra 20 scholarships wont make much difference in this game. First of all, we probably have more depth than they do at a lot of positions. Secondly, the Gophers are kind of beat up right now with some injuries in an already vastly depleted secondary and linebacker corps. Bison will be well rested were as the Gophs are going full out for 4 quarters every game because they are always behind and playing catchup. The BigTen is just a label, and the Gophers happen to be the doormat right now.

You guys are all amateurs, picking the score of the big game.
The question isn't if the Bison are gonna win--they will, this it obvious.

The real question is how many tight ends/offensive players is Joe Mays gonna dismantle on Saturday.

The line is 3. Anyone want to take the over?

No way can you give the edge to Minnesota 55% to 45% for probability of winning. I would switch those numbers around. Actually, I think it is more like 70% Bison and 30% Goofers.

I would hardly say they lack tradition. They've been down in recent years, but to say they lack tradition is a crazy statement! If you want to read about it, here you go: http://www1.umn.edu/stadium/tradition.html

Coach Bohl made a point to say that Roehl got plenty of rest last Sunday. I think they will run the ball about 50 times, setting up the play action in the second half and taking the fight out of the defense. Hard for the Gophers to score when the offense is watching from the sidelines. The second half I see the fresh legs of the other RB's and lots of play action.

O.K It's wednesday night and time to pick a winner for this game.
Factors to consider:
1. U Of M Defense is not good and a FR is starting his first game in the secondary.
2. U fo M Quarterback has thrown 14 interceptions in first seven games.
3. U of M has turned the ball over 22 times to 7 takeaways.
4. U of M offensive line has given up only 5 sacks this year.
5. With exception of OSU, the U tends to play at the level of competition.
6. U of M quarterback can run, this will give the Bison trouble.
7. U of M wide reciever tandem best we will see this year. (CP WR may be best)
8. Steve Walker. (insert 5 paragraphs of how clutch this kid is, here.)
9. Drago
10. Shaman Washington

so...
Looking at the games played by the Gophers, one thing stuck out like a sore thumb, turnovers. If the Gophers would have played even on the turn over department, they should have been 4-3 at the worst coming into this game. Turnovers are going to be huge in this game. I simply don't think that the Gophers are a good enough team to turn the ball over as much as they do and win against the NDSU. NDSU is better than Florida Atlantic, Ohio, and Bowling Green. If the U of M plays like they did against these guys, they are going to lose to the Bison, period.

OFFENSE Weber for the Gophers is turning into a good quarterback, yet he still has a tendency to throw the interception due to inexperience. Steve Walker is a great quarterback. No matter how good a game this counterpart has, Steve always finds a way to upstage him. Enough said about that. As far as offensive line goes, both the Bison and Gophers have solid starters, yet I think that the Bison may be deeper than the Gophers at this position. I would give the nod to the Bison at RB due to the injuries that have slowed the Gophers this year. Until someone stops Mr. Roehl, I'm a believer. The gophers have more talent at the WR spot than the Bison. The question is, which Wheelwright is going to show up?

DEFENSE The Gopher Defense flat out gives up a ton of yards and doesn't do a very good job of forcing turnovers. I blame the coaching staff for this. NDSU has a solid defense and the four games playing against the spread offense may be the difference maker.

Now, one factor missing from the game last year that may have put NDSU over the top....Shamen Washington. Drago and Shamen are going to do a good job turning the field over for the Bison.

NDSU 34 U of M 27 turnovers key to this win.

That's the gut feel.

As long as the guys keep their head up in adversity (as they have all year as well as last year) it will be all good.
