Dumb question to ask, but how do they figure percentages with ties? Looking at Cent, they have a record of 0-2-1, but have a winning percentage of .250. Wouldn't SUU have a higher "winning percentage" with a 0-1-3 record?

A tie is worth 0.5 of a win. The percentage is computed: (Wins X 1 + Ties X 0.5) / Total Games.

Cent: (0X1 + 1X0.5) / 3 = (0 + .5) / 3 = .167
SUU: (0X1 + 3X0.5) / 4 = (0 + 1.5) / 4 = .375

I don't know exactly how, but I screwed up on my first post. Cent should've had the percentage for SUU, and I have no idea where the .250 came from. It's all fixed now and updated through Thursday's games.

Thanks for the clarification. Makes more sense now...

Big weekend for the Bison in conference. Up tonight against the Jacks, who are pretty average but give us trouble, and on Saturday against Western Illinois who are well into the top 100 and are on a 10 game unbeaten steak. They are going to be tough. I thought the Creighton win was big but this will be the best team to visit Ellig this year.
By the end of the weekend we could either be in control of the conference or also rans.
GO BISON!!!

Missed a couple days with the Gopher weekend. Our ladies need a couple more conference wins to get back in the hunt.

Tie with Oakland actually jumps NDSU up two spots.

Cool. I guess I just breeze past the first article in the thread and assume that it's dated.

Right now the Herd are in 4th place in the conference, qualifying them for a championship slot. A win against Southern Utah would be nice insurance as ORU could could come up with a big game against Western Illinois and bump us out.

SDSU and NDSU are not eligible for the conference tourney this year.

NDSU made the decision to pick one men's and women's sports to move to DI without the five year waiting period. They chose wrestling and volleyball. Both were eligible last season. Football and basketball were not allowed to be picked.

Roadwarrior and Blue, Thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately, I was lead astray by the Summit League 2007 Championship informational page, “The top four Summit League women's soccer teams will advance.”

https://admin.xosn.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=3900&ATCLID=1276010

Would have been nice had they noted this exception for us neophytes. Does a win against NDSU/SDSU carry the same weight when computing win/loss conference standings? And…Is that why only four teams compete in the Summit championship rather than Big Ten”s top 8?

Beat by Oakland in the Summit tourney. Oakland loses in first round of NCAA tourney.

Here's the Summit League report.
