While the 2006 team was a college who's who, this year's squad could be pegged as "who's that". The "names" on the Florida roster are gone. Can the Bison take advantage of 7 Fres, 3 Soph, 1 Jr??

Jai Lucas is the son of former NBA player John Lucas and is crazy good. Bigtime 5 star recruit and McDonald's All American. He is really fast, not very big. His brother played for Okla State and is still hanging on in the league. Put it this way, they will be young, but they will be good. I hope we can hang with them.

You really gotta beat the Big Boys... a squeaker isn't gonna cut it. Ya' gotta win by at least 7-9 but I guess you guys would know that better than ANYBODY after that K-STATE game! GO GET 'EM.

He was actually a 4 star recruit but none the less a solid recruit. He's more of a pure point guard versus their other star recruit Nick Calathes. Nick Calathes is the guy you have to look out for though as he'll be a much more dangerous weapon that the Bison will have a hard time containing. He's a 6ft 6 stud who can handle the rock, shoot from anywhere, and create his own shot. He'll provide a huge mismatch against the Bison. The biggest threat though for the Bison will be containing Marreese Speights. If you can contain Speights, you'll have a chance. He'll be one of the best post players the Bison have ever faced.

I still feel (I know we no longer have Dre) that Florida will not be as good of a team as the Wisconsin or Marquette teams we beat. Therefore, we can win the game and should plan to play as if we should. ;)

Anytime a mid-major goes into a major conference arena, they are a huge underdog. If the Bison coaching staff, players and fans look at this Florida game in any other light, it would be a big mistake. Florida will throw waves of athletes at you that the Bison players will need to mentally prepare for.

Where the Bison may have an advantage, if any, will be their ability to execute in the half court. They will need to limit their turnovers, which has been a problem with this team. The Bison will not be able to deal with the Florida players in a full court up and down came if they turn the ball over. It would become a dunk fest.

Bottom line is I would expect the Bison to play a very good game and hope we can add it to our list of big wins. Go Bison!

Most of these pre-conference early season tournaments are not televised. I would not be so certain that it will. If NDSU has anything to do with it, it will be on the tube.
