Rob Hunt was cut by the Chiefs today. Hopefully they think enough of him to add him to the practice squad.

How many years has Rob been on practice squads? I think that players can only spend 3 years before they are not eligible for the practice squad anymore.

On Sunday, September 2, 2007, the day after the final pre-season cutdowns, each club may establish a Practice Squad of no more than eight (8) players who are free agents and who do not have more than nine games on an Active list in a previous season. The minimum salary for a practice squad player is $4,700 per week, including the playoff weeks. In addition, a player under contract to a club as a Practice Squad player is completely free to sign a contract with any NFL club to play on their Active/Inactive list.

Approx 94,000 grand for the practice squad. Not bad. PL

At least Dahl managed to stick on the Giants so we'll have someone to follow.

Actually, according to the Seahawks Insider (http://blogs.thenewstribune.com/seahawks/2007/09/01/practice_squad_rules):

After noon EST on September 2nd, each club may establish a Practice Squad of no more than eight (8) players who are free agents. The practice squad shall consist of the following players, provided that they have not served more than two previous seasons on a Practice Squad: (i) players who do not have an Accrued Season of NFL experience; and (ii) free agent players who were on the Active List for fewer than nine regular season games during their only Accrued Season(s). An otherwise eligible player may be a practice squad player for a third season only if the Club by which he is employed that season has at least 53 players on its Active/Inactive List during the entire period of his employment.

Maybe Rob is not eligible for the practice squad?
