Another story I've spent a lot of time developing this summer for the first edition of the SDSU Collegian.

North Dakota State
13-7-1 last year
When to see them: October 18 at Fishback Soccer Park.
Overview of team: Leading scorers forward Michelle Martinez and midfielder Lorraine Thompson return to an offense that scored 29 more goals than their opponent’s. Pete Cuadrado’s firing squad came oh so close to winning the United Soccer Conference losing 1-0 to the Jackrabbits. A young team returns for the Bison and so does a good shot at giving the Summit League a run for its money, unfortunately like the Jacks, the Bison cannot compete in the Summit League tourney this fall.
What to expect: Coach Cuadrado on his team: “We will be a better team than the last year, a little deeper but as always we need to stay healthy. As far as the conference it is great to be in an established conference competing for the regular season title. We have matured a lot in this past off season and gained some great experience with the teams we played. Wining Minnesota's spring tourney was a highlight especially with the caliber of teams.”
Who to watch: Michelle Martinez who has led the team in scoring the last 3 years. Monica Morgan had a stellar freshman year as goalkeeper for the Bison. Lorraine Thompson who is from Sioux Falls who received many awards last year as a freshman.
My prediction: A fate similar to SDSU, a top three team in the conference, but will not get to play for a chance at the NCAA tourney. Seven to ten wins seems low, but anything can happen in the Summit League.
