Just more Goofs being delirious is all. No need to be alarmed! This behavior has been reported to be NORMAL as odd as it may seem to the general population.> But yeah, the Golden Giggles should definitely compete for the BigTen title this year. (I have an inside source! last name begins with Brew) ;)

Seems the Goopher fans are getting a little nervous about playing the mighty Bison. I thought Minnesota didn't care about lowly NDSU and they were just going to ignore this ridiculous game and Bison fans in general. Still waiting for their predictions of a 3, 4 or 5 touchdown victory.

Aren't you pretty much doing the same, predicting a victory with almost triple the points you scored last year ? I am a Gopher fan, yes. But my stepson is a Bison. Speaking as a Gopher fan,i rather see this game just be done with already. No matter how the Gophers do there will be some sort of excuse(tripping penalty, blocked FG,etc) Seriously, some of you guys rail on the Gophers for being arrogant,if i were you,i'd start checking the skidmarks in your own underwear before you start with the Gopher fans.

The only prediction that of I know in print was the 40-0 Gopher win by Sid Hartman who by the next day admitted that the Bison should have won by 20. Is that the prediction you're referring to??

Lol,Sid hartman is still rambling about how the Gophers let Holtz walk away. Not exactly a voice of the Gophers fan. I've seen predictions as high as 31 and as low as 12 from Bison fans. But all were predicted as wins.

Sorry nobohl, we are actually proud of the Bison football program and can talk about taking on bigger challenges knowing our team will be competitive. I really do think NDSU can beat Minnesota by 10 points and I hope for a greater margin of victory. As for your backhand name, nobohl, its too bad the Gophers don't have a coach as good as Bohl. Funny thing, the Gophers might just lose more than the game this year. There will be many football fans in the Minneapolis area that will start to take notice of how a successful program is run. Maybe they will become fans of the outstanding football tradition at NDSU.

Deep down inside, many goofer fans know they will not win a Big 10 game this season. This FACT explains their deep infatuation with the Bison and the other 3 OOC teams they MAY have a CHANCE of beating. Naturally, they will be hoping for you to lose as many games as possible b4 playing, to soften you up. Pretty sad when you think about it.

Spoken like a true homer. The Gophers do have a pretty rich tradition, but this isn't the time or place to discuss it. Secondly, how can you judge a guy who has yet to coach a game. Thirdly,Bohl was so highly thought of,that he was passed over by Brewster for the Gophers job. Is Brewster a better coach? No one knows yet.

think about it, are any of those predictions out of line?
We know these facts:
The Bison lost to UM last year by a score of 9-10 in a game that was completely dominated by you know who.
The Bison are returning a vast majority of last years team and adding a lot of depth in the process plus and All-American return specialist Minnesota coaches have never seen before.
The Gophers are installing a new offense and defensive system.
The Gophers have a new and unproven coach.
The Gophers have had several off-field issues that have resulted in the removal of involved players.
The Bison have a 4 year starter at QB that had little problem tearing through the Gopher defense in the dome last year.
The Gopher QB....well, lets revisit this in a few weeks when we know who this individual might be.

If there is ever a year the Bison can compete with the Gophers it is 2007, much more so than 2006.

Check out the latest at the Goopher Hole. These guys are really getting worked up about the game with a team that they want to ignore. Notice this thread was started by one of their very own (Norman Dale). BTW, he is definitely not Lakesbison for those who might suggest a conspiracy theory. Seems like many of the Goopher faithful are hanging around this board lately, or am I mistaken? Again, I thought Gopher fans could give a rip about NDSU.
Since I brought up Lakes......this is starting to feel like a rivalry game (even though shhhhh, keep it quiet, this is not a rivalry).

And they wonder why people call them "goofers!" Your game is 2 months later than the Iowa/iowa state game, yet there is already 10 X the chatter surrounding it compared to said intra-state "rivalry."

If you listened to coach Bohl after the game he never mentioned the blocked FG, penalty. He just said that Bison players don't believe in moral victories and neither does he. If that was a tripping penalty then the Denver Broncos would get called for it every game. However, you have to overcome bad calls and breaks that go against you. We did not. That being said, If our "kicker" could have kicked a 20 yard FG straight (a lot of people forget about that) we would have won the game. Nobody else has said it here but I will the Bison won that game but Shawn Bibeau lost it. That's the bottom line. When you are a kicker that comes with the territory. I don't care if you are a freshman or not you have to nail the kicks that count and Bibeau didn't. Start your flamethrowers.

You HAVE to make a 20 yarder. That should be automatic. Maybe, OK, I was a little strong in saying he lost the game but all I am saying is you have to make a 20 yarder.

Oh, it was tripping, no question. Phil Hansen even said it looked like a good call the next day on Bohl's show. No need to go there.

Also, I don't think it is appropriate to blame players, especially true freshman, when it is perfectly adequate and quite necessary to blame coaches when they make stupid calls.

Bohl et al. decision to go for it just inside Gopher territory (~46 yd line of Goophers) with 4th and a very long three/four yds was brain dumb. Drago could have punted them in deep and with how poorly Cupito and company played there is no way they would have scored on our D that day. But no, we go for it and the Goophers take over and drive a little more than 50 yds for a TD. Even an incompetent team such as the Goophers can get lucky and put together a drive that short.

The NDSU coaches have to take the blame for that loss, plain and simple. You need to follow more football 09...

You guys need to direct more of your frustration toward the "enemy" team. More fun to mess with Gopher fans because they have been waiting for a Messiah coach and a dream team for over 40 years. It is an uphill battle in Minneapolis due to fair weather fans and an apparent lack of commitment to the university by local Alumni and firiends. Look at Goopher football. They are Big Ten and can't put 65,000 (of their own)fans in the seats even for a big conference game. Compare that with Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Wisconsin. Now Gopher fans are so confident they can sell out their new stadium.......oh yeah, one fact they don't point out........the new stadium will have a capacity less than 50,000.

why build a 65k+ stadium when it isn't selling out? they have the ability to expand it to between 72 and 80k seats if they truly are selling out every game

My point is how little support the Gophers have for their program. Relatively speaking the Bison get much higher percentage fan support when comparing total students, total alumni, or area population.

It's obvious that these people view the Bison as a new rival...otherwise they wouldn't be writing like this. It's a good thing. They feel threatened that NDSU could infringe on their God-given right to what they view as superiority...in sports, and as a state.

Looks like they're really afraid of the game this fall. If I was them, I'd be afraid.

The Bison players will have no fear. Let's take their lead.

You don't suppose it would have anything to do with them having to compete with professional teams,do you?

Another reason? The dome is a horrible atmosphere for college football. Please stick to what you know. Oh,yeah, one more thing, the stdium is only 50,000 right now but can easily be expanded to 70,000 plus. Once again, stick to things you know

well you can easily say that about any of the stadiums that are being built in minneapolis, not just the new gophers stadium. the vikings are trying to get taxpayer money to fund their new stadium as well, albeit very hard to get now. twins ground breaking ceremony was cancelled, you could say cuz of the tragedy, but do you want to celebrate something getting built with so much tax dollars knowing it could have gone somewhere to save lives? mn is going to get a tremendous amount from the feds, and that certainly isn't dependent on how much, if any, they are going to get back from these stadium bills............................................. what's done is done, gophers are getting a new stadium, now what was this thread originally about again? ah yes, goophers loving cmu
